Thanksfulness: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Thanksgiving is not just about food. But it is a time to stop, reflect, and to give thanks for the many blessings that we have received throughout the year. This is a time that people gather together with family and friends to laugh and to just enjoy each other’s company.

On Thanksgiving Day, my family and I share a tradition that takes place after we say “grace” for our food. We ask everyone seated around the table to share what they are most thankful for.

As we go around the table sharing our sentiments, I am so touched to hear the genuine expressions of love and gratitude that is spoken from the heart . It feels like a “Big Old Love Feast” that has everyone experiencing “warm fuzzies” on the inside. That is what love is and what it feels like within the family.

Sharing truth from one’s heart connects a person’s soul with the words that are spoken from the heart of another.

Moments like these create long-lasting special memories with those we love the most. How precious it is to celebrate and show that kind of appreciation to one another. People love to feel appreciated and the more we express how grateful we are towards each other the more we will experience it in our lives.

So no matter what this year has been like for you, there is still so much to be thankful for! Whether things turned out perfectly for you or not, having love and family trumps all. And remember, family can also be friends or perhaps a person that does something kind to let you know they care.

What do you have to be thankful for? Who can you reach out to this Thanksgiving in order to show love to or to make someone feel loved and feel like family. In addition to doing that, take the time to look back at all that you’ve been given and then give up the thanks. Once you do, you will experience more and more will be given to you to give thanks for.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
