CREATING YOUR DESTINY WITH YOUR CHOICES

You’ve heard the saying..."show me who your friends are and I will show you your destiny."

Who we associate with impacts us in either a positive or negative way and choosing the wrong type of person to be apart of our lives can led us to a destination that we never intended to be at.

Why? Because their influence has led us to make decisions that resulted in us experiencing something in our lives that we would have never knowingly chosen for ourselves. Once you wake up to our reality, the question “becomes how did I get here?”

Not only do the people we choose to be around and speak into our lives determine where we end up in life, but how we spend our TIME.

Time is a precious commodity. It is priceless! Once it is spent you can never get it back again. Many times, we live our lives like we have all the time in the world to do whatever we are going to do in life. But this is just not true.

It’s important to appreciate the moments in time that we have to fulfill the dreams and purposes for our lives. This has to do with time we spend on a job or a career that we hate, a personal relationship that we know is not right for us, investing in meaningless material things to validate who we are or how successful we are and much more. Time. What are you doing with yours?

In my past, I have personally wasted time, but have often had a good judge of character in people. But which ever I fail to make a good decision in whether it was time or people, it still lead me to a particular destination of I did not want to be.

So what can you do about turning things around in order to get to the right destination?

1. CHOOSE TO BELIEVE

You have to choose to believe that there is a bigger and better future than the one that you are experiencing right. I always tell people when you feel like there is more, it because there is MORE. When you believe that, you then begin to make different decisions. You no longer settle for less or give into people or things that no longer adds value to your life. You let go of the things that no longer serve you in your ability to grow and take bold steps towards your NEXT!

Going to your NEXT requires you to believe that God has something greater in store for you. He has a plan for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 - New International Version Bible).

2. CHOOSE TO SPEAK YOUR FUTURE

It is important to speak about the life you want and to call those things that be not as though it they were (Romans 4:17). Speak what you believe because there is power in what you say.

JUST BELIEVING AND SPEAKING YOUR FUTURE IS NOT A STRATEGY. Creating a strategy to get to your destiny is.

Therefore you must…

3. CHOOSE TO PLAN

Choosing to plan includes seeking a revelation of the plan. Clarity helps you to know how to plan out your steps of intentional action. It’s about taking the time to reflect to determine what it will cost you to get to where you want to be. Nothing just happens! Write out what you want and the steps you need to do to get there. And begin.

4. CHOOSE TO ACT

Daily, consistent action is needful and necessary. So be determine to order your day by choosing actions that are congruent to your goal. Purpose not to get side tract and stay on course.

Once you implement these four steps as well as deciding how you spend your time and with whom, you will be well on your way to turning things around. A great destiny involves us making great choices. Choices matter and they determine what will or will not happen in our lives. It is up to you...so choose wisely! Because making certain decisions will determine where we end up in life and what kind of things will take place in our lives simply by our choices or the lack there of.
