I DON'T CARE!

November 21, 2015

So often we find ourselves caring about a lot of things. Caring about what people think or say about us. We care about whether or not people like us. We spend too much time caring about how we look. We care about what others are doing. We care about what is or is not happening in our lives. We care about our families, our friends, our jobs, our businesses, our finances, our marriages, our health, our country, and our own personal issues. All of this is called “THE CARES OF THIS LIFE”.  And although much of what we care about matters, the bottom line is that we can get so caught up that we become overwhelmed with keeping up with life.

Therefore, I STOP CARING! Why? Because I realized that with all the life challenges that I have been facing in the last couple of months was way more than I could carry by myself (I will share more about that later in my next post). Because I know my limitations, I decided to do something that I know by experience works. I’ve always known as a Christian that we are to give all of our concerns to God. As a matter-of-fact, the scripture says to cast all of our cares on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

I am convinced that nobody cares more about you and your life than God does. So refuse to carry “CARES ” on your shoulders because it can wear you down, if not out and start doing some CASTING. God’s shoulders are bigger than ours . It is His job to do the heavy lifting while it is our job to completely trust that He’s got us and that He’s got all the things we care about! However, this is not always easy to do. And besides, if we had the answer regarding whatever is going on in our lives, we would have fixed it by now. So, whatever it is that you’re going through, this is the way to get the relief you need. And in the words of my best friend, Joy Williams (www.joyawilliams.com) would say…“everything is going to be alright even if you don’t know what "alright" looks like.”

So what’s been weighing you down lately? What has you filled with sadness, anxiety, fear, or worry? What are you willing to take off and cast on God? Whatever it is, make a decision to stop trying to handle everything yourself so you can just Let Go & Let God and be FREE from the weight of it all.

I would love to hear from you! Share your thoughts to keep the conversation going.
