What is Coaching?

What is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach is a personal change expert. Coaches not only help people discover and identify what they want from their lives and to create a life strategy plan to achieve it, but will walk along side them offering support, encouragement, and accountability.  A Life Coach empowers people to take ownership of their lives and to become actively engaged with life in order to live their best lives.


How Does Coaching Work?

In each of our coaching sessions together, we will first determine where your are and discover what you really want. Then we will identify areas that you feel stuck and create strategies on how to overcome them. Afterwards, we will break the vision down into 3-4 bite size manageable pieces for quick results. Moreover, we will create specific and measureable goals and develop a corresponding action plan to achieve them. Finally, depending on the program you choose, we will meet weekly by phone calls and emails to keep you accountable, focused, and inspired to execute the plan for you to succeed.

Why Coaching Works?

Coaching works because coaches' help people grow faster, perform at a higher level of living, understand themselves more deeply, and live with greater purpose and fulfillment. In the same way that many other types of coaches in other aspects of life helps improve performance, a personal coach enables people to maximize their potential to get the most out of life.  Coaching also works because it encourages clients to set goals, challenges them to do more than they would have done on their own, helps to focus them in order to produce results more quickly, and to provide the client with tools, support, and structure to accomplish more.


What is the difference between Coaching, Consulting, Mentoring, and Therapy?

Therapy, deals with in depth issues and its origin in order to heal from the past. Coaching is more forward thinking in its approach. Its focus is working with healthy people who are motivated to grow and change. Consulting offers specific advice and answers to particular problems; however, coaching ask thought-provoking questions that challenges clients to see their problems with greater insight and the ability to develop their own solutions to change their own lives.  Lastly, mentoring is more of imparting skills, sharing information and a new perspective to the mentored. Coaching has less to do with being an authority in any particular skill, job, or life situation but has more to do with knowing how to expertly utilize the basic principles on how people excel in life. These are universal principles that can be applied to almost any area of life.
